It’s amazing how fast time goes in life, and to think that with the first project I ever did, which was in 1995, we’re now fourteen years later and I’m almost at my 700th. I think it’s great to be able to state that, particularly since the shift of the industry (and economy) these days. As with each 100th project/client, this time around, the 700th production/client will receive $700 credit towards any full-service production services and/or options/upgrades. We expect this to take place between November – December.
I’ve seen every variation to an event over the years but this was by far one of my favorite social events to take part on producing. Of course my client (the entire family, for that matter) are wonderful people and the venues that the chose for their party were nothing short of brilliant. In particular, the reception was held at The Birchmere in northern Virginia. The aesthetics of the venue, the lighting, the overall ambiance – gorgeous! Even more, they booked a great DJ who had people on the dance floor the entire evening and having used the in-house audio system and working off the installed dance lights, the video is sure to look great! Highlight clips will be online in about a month or so from this post. Congrats Alana!

Many more to come, as well as an all-new Corporate Gallery, which should be finished by the beginning of June. If you have questions in the meantime, please let us know!
We filmed Carly’s Bat-Mitzvah at Woodholme Country Club on Sunday. An evening party, the theme was ‘music’ and was done ever so tastefully. Each table was adorned by highly-detailed 4-6-foot center pieces, with miniature displays around each table, as well as the room. The lighting was done very well, too, which will easily be reflected in the final video. It was rather exhausting to film but it will be worth it once complete! Celebrations website is HERE. They are such wonderful people and their work is among the best I’ve ever seen in the last fourteen years. Give ‘em a call! The DJ Company was none other than New York Entertainment. Their mixing is absolutely perfect, their lighting is great, and their dancers are some of the best I’ve ever seen…and with Mitvahs, they’re really good at getting the guests – and keeping them – on the dance floor.
Our 603rd production, we filmed a Bar-Mitzvah at Oheb Shalom in Baltimore, MD on Saturday, February 7th.
It was a truly fantastic event and much goes to the professionals that were hired for the evening. Unfortunately, I have no idea who the band/dj group was but they were one of the best I’ve worked with in the last fourteen years of being in this business. Six musicians, three background singers, two dancers, two MC’s, five primary dancers/singers….simply amazing, great energy, vocals were very much on key….incredible.
The Catering Company was Classic Catering . One of the key people in the business, Bobby Pressman, is a wonderful person and their team is not only incredibly efficient with their services but the food is really quite outstanding. I’ve worked events where they have been the caterers over several years and it’s always consistent. And, to that, I’ve also had the opportunity to have food from top chefs including Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsey, Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali, and so many more. I mention this because while there is quite a difference between these chefs and many others, the overall food presentation, taste quality, guest reactions to the food, and speed at which the food is prepared reminds me very much to what Classic Catering provides and their food is a great testament to this comparison. I’m hoping to have them cater an upcoming event of my own very soon.
What’s an event without a coordinator? Lynn and Sharon from Celebrations are wonderful people. I have known and worked with this Company for so long I cannot remember since when, but they are great at coordinating a wide variety of events and with consistent, top-notch success. Each time I film an event I hope that they are the coordinators simply because I know that the event will be a great time.
I’ll have some video clips of the event in the online gallery by the end of February / beginning of March.
